biogRaphy ~ 2010 act vi: JUBILEE Versailles' first performance in 2010 was a threeman live event held at Shibuya O-EAST in honour to former bassist Jasmine You on January 4. Other bands artists performing were Matenrou Opera and Kaya. The aim of the event was letting the band and its fans pour out all their feelings for one evening before going on. At that concert the band played a new song titled "Serenade", written for Jasmine You.
In the meantime, Versailles debuted on radio with a special weekly show
aired by 80.4 FM Hokkaido AIR-G' from
January 2. The show was hosted by KAMIJO, and one of the other three
members appeared every week as a guest until April.
Warner Music also organized the run a promotional Versailles truck through Shibuya, Harajuku and Omotesando during the album release week. On top of that, Versailles even managed to play their major debut single "Ascendead Master" live at the popular NHK music show MUSIC JAPAN on January 24. act viI: METHODS OF INHERITANCE
On February 28 Versailles kicked off the Japanese leg of their
first world tour ever "Methods of
Intheritance" with a sold out performance in Yokohama.
This was the first gig with support bassist MASASHI
(former member of several bands
including CODE).
In June Versailles had their first concerts in South America visiting five countries and also came back in Japan for a couple of exclusive fanclub gigs at their homeground Meguro Rokumeikan. One concert was limited to male fans, while the other was limited to female fans. Two days after the fanclub concerts, Versailles were ready to conquer Europe with a series of succesful concerts from June 26 to July 13. This time the band held eleven concerts in nine different countries, including a final sold out gig in Paris at Le Trabendo.
One week after that, another Japanese leg of the tour started with a
concert on KAMIJO's birthday at Kawasaki CLUB CITTA. This part of the
tour, titled "Arousal", saw Versailles
playing in smaller venues and live houses. Versailles were alreaady reharsing and recording new material since early Summer. Despite this, Sherow Artist Society (KAMIJO's labels, which also produced all the indies works of Versailles) released a couple of live albums titled NOBLE-LIVE- and Lyrical Sympathy-LIVE- on September 1. Both releases featured audio recordings from the concert at Shibuya C.C. Lemon Hall held on December 23th 2008 (previously released on DVD).
The 37th and last gig of the "Methods of
Inheritance" world tour took place at the C.C. Lemon Hall in
Shibuya on September 4.
21 cameras filmed the whole concert and footage was later broadcasted by the Japanese private
channel WOWOW.
The first release with MASASHI on bass was the maxi-single
DESTINY - The Lovers-, released on October 27th,
while the first concert with the new lineup was the
Sequence Records anniversary event in
Shizuoka on October 30.
