Kaya is one of the three main characters of Node of scherzo, and also provided live vocals for HIZAKI grace project in Winter 2007. A further collaboration came in Summer 2007, when HIZAKI composed the title track of Kaya's single Carmilla (released on October 31st).
Kaya is currently a solo vocalist often related to Versailles due to his involvement in the Aesthetic Revolution (tanbi kakumei 耽美革命) promoted by Sherow Artist Society.
Born in Tokushima (Shikoku), Kaya (using his previous stage name Hime 姫, meaning 'princess') debuted by the age of 18 as Meties vocalist in the Ehime area. After graduating between 1999 and 2000 he moved to Tokyo and joined another band called ISOLA. However, he reached his turning point by forming with keyboardist Hora the electronic music duo Rudolf Steiner, latter known as Schwarz Stein. This unit was produced by ex-MALICE MIZER guitarist Mana since 2002 and became quite popular in the indies scene. After disbanding in March 2004, Schwarz Stein reunited twice with a revival concert in Dicember 2004 and the one-release only session unit another cell in early 2006.
Kaya held his solo debut concert on June 23th 2006 at a free oneman live at Takadanobaba AREA. His solo project sees the collaboration with Kei Suzuki as arranger and KALM (ex-VELVET EDEN) as main music composer, with other contributions by such artists as Hora and SIZNA (guitarist and leader of Sugar).
In early 2008 Kaya signed a deal with the major label next music inc. (a division of Universal Music Japan).
