Carmilla is one of the four simultaneous tanbi kakumei 耽美革命 (Aesthetic Revolution) releases of Halloween 2007. The other items of this campaign were Versailles' Lyrical Sympathy, Juka's SAINT CROIX, and the Node of scherzo single.
The title track Carmilla was composed by HIZAKI in Summer 2007, while Silvery Dark is a live recording of one of Kaya's old songs. The single also features a live videoclip recorded at the Versailles sponsored event The Red Carpet Day, held at Shibuya O-EAST on August 31st 2007.
Carmilla has also been re-recorded and re-arranged in Kaya's compilation album GLITTER, released July 16th 2008.
